2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid (Weekly Test-Drive)

We have just one more day with our week-long affair with the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Today we’re going to give you a little walk around the interior of the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid or the 2010 Fusion itself.

Take a seat inside the 2010 Ford Fusion and right away you’ll notice that Ford has worked hard to step up the quality when compared to the model’s predecessors. Instead of hard plastic, Ford has replaced the upholstery and panels with soft rubber-like materials. The center instrument panel also receives a nice upgrade with controls laid out more ergonomically.

One thing that the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid has that its gasoline siblings do not is the SmartGauge with EcoGuide – a new instrument cluster that provides real-time information to help drivers maximize fuel efficiency. The display features two high-resolution full-color LCD screens around the speedometer that the driver can configure to show different information. Drivers will be able to see information regarding fuel and battery power levels and average and instant miles-per-gallon. It also features growing leaves and vines that reward the driver’s efficiency.

On a side note: We’re averaging 38 miles-per-gallon. Stay tuned for more updates.

Note: You can always ask us questions in the comments section or send us a Tweet to have your questions answered right way (as long as we aren’t driving).

This would be an outstanding vehicle if it had adaptive cruise control and collision mitigation. Those of us wh are tech savvy are not fooled by blind-side warning systems. I not that Buick, Acura/Honda, Mazda, Subaru, and Toyota ar, like Ford, reserving adaptive cruise control for their most expensive models (or are not offering it at all, except in foreign markets (Acura/Honda and Subaru).

Cosumers are smarter than you think. Those that offer adaptive cruise control will sell more cars. Mark my words.
