Ford to help promote Microsoft Windows 7 operating system

Microsoft said that FoMoCo will be the first amongst a handful of companies that will upgrade to the company’s new Windows 7 operating system when it goes on sale next month. Ford executives, along with executives from Continental Airlines, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Intel, are meeting with Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer in San Francisco today. They will talk about how they can help promote Windows 7 more than just upgrading to it at their company offices.
Of course this sounds like “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch your back” kind of deal since Microsoft’s SYNC system is offered on Ford vehicles. Bill Gates himself helped promote the SYNC system in Ford cars at the Consumer Electronics Show and at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show.
Gates also donated $1 million to The Henry Ford Foundation.
