Last week we reported that General Motors Company’s new 60-day money back guarantee program is off to a somewhat slow start. While many consumers agree that the 60-day money-back guarantee sounds like a great incentive, most are worried about how much money they’re actually going to get back if they return their new GM vehicle.

What many don’t know is that if you’re not interested in the 60-day money back guarantee, you can opt for a $500 cash back credit.

“We launched this activity to encourage people to give our four brands consideration,” Susan Docherty, General Manager, Buick and GMC said today during a live chat GM’s FastLane Blog. “If a consumer is not interested in the 60 day guarantee, they can opt for a $500 credit.”

Out of curiosity, we were wondering what you would go for – the 60-day money back guarantee or the $500 cash back.

i have to see the fine print though but i am leaning toward the 60-days money back. i can always haggle for the $500 off because the price is not fixed and negotiable.

I would def go for the $500. There is a lot of fine print in returning the car.

What a waste of advertising dollars. GM has done nothing to entice people to switch, but maybe in a couple of more model years....

Besides, the 60 day guarantee is superfluous with the existing lemon laws that most states have.
