Leaked: Audi R8 eTron Concept is too ElectricallyUntamed to keep under the covers

Audi R8 eTron

Yes, tomorrow is the day when the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show kicks off and some publications just can’t wait to leak some more debuts ahead of their scheduled launch tomorrow. This morning we see the much anticipated electric Audi R8 electric make its way onto the web.

Known as the Audi R8 eTron Concept, the electric Audi supercar is powered by… we have no clue. All the folks at WorldCarFans did was post some photos – no technical details have been leaked as of yet.

However, we do know two things so far. The Audi R8 eTron Concept looks amazingly weird and will compete with the likes of BMW’s Vision EfficientDynamics Concept and Mercedes-Benz’s already confirmed 526-hp SLS AMG eDrive. We’ll have more details for you within the next 24 hours.

    Wow – I honestly don't know what to think…sometimes it looks totally horrible and sometimes it looks okay….but not great

    Nice but weird looking. I don't hink it's my screen resolution but the exterior looks too “stretchy.” I like the LED headlights. The gauge pod is definitely not for high speed endeavor. The NAVI screen is too big. That space should be reserved for the tach and speedo gauges.
