Posted: Aug 20, 2009

According to a report by Manager Magazine, Volkswagen could be interested in partnering up with Suzuki Motor Corp. CEO Martin Winterkorn told the German Magazine that Suzuki would be an interesting partner because of the Japanese automakers competency in small cars.
The magazine said that Volkswagen is interested in taking a 10 percent stake in Suzuki or forming a joint venture between the two automakers. Manager Magazine said that Renault is also interested in Suzuki.
Volkswagen was not available to comment on the report.
Suzuki’s CEO Osamu Suzuki told media in June that he had no contact with Volkswagen.
