We’re getting a bit annoyed by not having pictures to go with our GM future-product stories today – but we have to make-do with what we have. The last of the four-core brands GM discussed today was the company’s pride and joy – Chevrolet.

As we already know the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible has been pushed back to the second quarter of 2011. Expect pricing to be a couple thousand over its coupe sibling – but still competitive in the muscle car market.

GM also gave the media a look at the next-generation Chevrolet Aveo, which should give the Ford Fiesta a run for its money. Also in the works is a Chevrolet Orlando, which will compete with the likes of the Mazda 5.

Last but not least, a Chevrolet Malibu is due out for 2012. Influenced by European sports sedans, the next-generation Malibu will remind many of the BMW 5-Series.

A Malibu for 2012? That's one short life span for the current gen.... considering they've said it takes at least 5 years to get a car to market... that means that this new one was likely planned before the current Malibu's release.

Gotta wonder if this one will keep the trend going and finally beat out the Camry and Accord.

An Aveo replacement could be interesting, but it'd be the toughest sell considering how the Aveo turned out. Not to mention tough competitors like the Fiesta and Fit.

Not much to say about the Orlando. If it turns out like the concept, it should do well.

If it will remind many of the BMW 5-Series, does that mean they'll bring back the Chevrolet Malibu SS and MAXX? I would love to be able to buy a Malibu wagon

a new malibu ss and maxx would be really cool... as long as they drop that "maxx" name =P but seriously i would totally buy a malibu wagon

I don't mind the maxx but ya, a new name would be good, the Europeans call them estates but a Chevrolet Malibu Estate, that doesn't sound right.
