Rendering: Lexus Compact Hatchback Concept

We recently heard that Lexus will be unveiling a new compact hatchback concept at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show next month. The 5-door hatchback concept hints at a future production Lexus that will compete with the likes of the BMW 1-Series and Audi’s A3.

The folks over at Inside Line have come up with this rendering giving us a hint as to what the concept may look like. So far, rumors have suggested that the car will be badged as “BS” or “CS’. Power is rumored to come from the hybrid drivetrain from the 2010 Lexus HS 250h, which produces a total of 187-hp from a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine.

A production version of the concept will debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.

Not bad looking at all. Hopefully, it turns out looking similar to that.

The LF-Ch will be previewed at this month’s Frankfurt Motor Show as a concept. The concept will feature a hybrid drivetrain, with an electric-only mode as well. Apparently, the production version will also be sold with conventional drivetrain systems. Also, the auto maker will arrive in Frankfurt with updated versions of the Lexus IS, GS and the LS luxury sedan.
