2009 Ford Focus RS Nurburgring

Sport Auto’s Editor in Chief Horst von Saurma recently hit up the Nurburgring Nordschleife in a 2009 Ford Focus RS to set a lap time for the hottest hatch on European roads. von Saurma managed to lap the famous German track in 8:26.

Ford of Europe has just released a video of his run.

2009 Ford Focus RS: Power comes from a 2.5L 5-cylinder Duratec engine with a large Borg Warner K16 turbocharger. That makes a total of 300-hp and a peak torque of 324 lb-ft allowing for a 0 to 62 mph run in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 163 mph.
