Michael Schumacher

Taking a break from his duties as “The Stig” from Top Gear, 7-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher will make a return for Ferrari to replace injured driver Felipe Massa. Ferrari confirmed earlier today that Schumacher has agreed to replace Massa until he is in the condition to return.

Massa received multiple skull fractures during an accident where he was hit in the helmet by a loose part from another car and crashed into a protective tire barrier at 120 mph. Doctors said that Massa will not be able race during this season.

Schumacher will race in the European Grand Prix on Aug. 21-23 in Valencia, Spain.

“Though it is true that the Formula One chapter has long been closed for me, it is also true that for team loyalty reasons I cannot ignore that unfortunate situation,” Schumacher said. “But as the competitor I am, I also very much look forward to facing this challenge.”

Can't wait to see how he measures up to Kimi…and Sebastien…and Lewis.

I'm very surprised by his decision because he has a hell of a lot more to lose than to gain by doing this. I admire his willingness to help out the team and test himself against the youngsters.
