According to Automotive News, Bentley is planning to use cylinder cutoffs in the next generation of its top-of-the-line model, the Arnage – so far known as the New Grand Bentley. The cutoff technology is designed to reduce fuel-consumption and carbon dioxide missions by shutting off individual combustion chambers that are not needed during cruising speeds.
The next-generation Bentley Arnage will make its public debut next month at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours D’ Elegance in Monterey, California.
Bentley will also use an innovative technology that uses superheated air and high tool pressure to shape the Arnage’s curvaceous bodywork.
