We’ve seen the awkward looking prototype, the gorgeous interior, and we’ve seen some leaked images (allegedly). Well, Edmunds Inside Line now put their “man in Germany” in touch with Mercedes-Benz for a test-drive of the SLS AMG Gullwing Prototype – and oh how we wish we were that “man in Germany.”
Power comes from what Mercedes-Benz calls the 6.2L M156 V8, which produces 571-hp at 6,800 rpm and 479 lb-ft of torque at 4,750 rpm. 0 to 62 mph should come in 3.8 seconds, keeping you going to a top speed of 196 mph.
“Man in Germany” overall verdict?
“The 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG might look like the SL Gullwing of the 1950s, but it’s clearly meant to challenge the best of today’s exotic sports cars, like the Audi R8, the Nissan GT-R and the Porsche 911 Turbo.”
