Would you like a charging station with that? McDonald’s adds plug-in charging stations
A McDonald’s in Cary, North Caroline will soon become the first fast food restaurant in more than 10 years to add an electric-recharging station for electric-vehicles in its parking lot. Ric Richards, the independent owner of the McDonald’s, built his new restaurant with eco-friendly materials and technologies and wanted to carry over the theme to his customers.
The charging station will be added in a partnership with ChargePoint. His location will open for business on July 14.
“Our customers will have a dedicated place to park and recharge their vehicles,” said Richards. “McDonald’s is enabling a better environment for future generations by supporting zero-emissions transportation infrastructure.”
In the late 1990s, a McDonald’s in Phoenix, Arizona added changing stations to accommodate customers with electric-vehicles.
