The Ford Kuga is another Ford vehicle we wish would come over the stateside. So far we’ve heard rumors of Lincoln getting a small crossover based on the Kuga and a new Ford Escape being based on the Kuga platform. According to AutoExpress, Ford is now studying a Ford Kuga coupe.
With a dramatically sloping roofline and a distinctive C-pillar, the Kuga coupe will get a lot of its inspiration from the three-door Fiesta and the Iosis MAX concept.
While there will be an all-wheel-drive version of the Kuga coupe, Ford will offer two-wheel-drive versions for better fuel economy and emissions.
Under the hood will be the much talked about 4-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost, which will also make sits way into the third-generation Focus. Other choices will include a 1.6L turbo with 148-hp or 178-hp. Diesel options will include a new 128-hp 1.6 TDCi and a flagship 2.0L with up to 197-hp. Transmission choices will include a Powershift twin-clutch auto and a standard 6-speed manual.
Sources say to look out for the Kuga coupe to debut at a major auto show in 2011.
