Spy Shots: Reader catches undisguised Aston Martin Rapide

No matter how much automakers try to keep their new creations under the cover – they are bound to get released before their launch date. Being all prestige and everything, you would think that Aston Martin would do a little more to keep its latest product a secret prior to its launch date; apparently, not.

A CAR Online reader Simon Gregg recently spotted this totally undisguised Aston Martin Rapide just hanging out. The 470-hp four-door Panamera competitor is scheduled to make a debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Gregg was only able to take shots of the exterior so it seems like we’ll have to wait until Frankfurt to see the inside. Nonetheless, Gregg did get a look inside the Rapide and said “The interior boasts a centre console which runs all the way through to the rear seating area – a strict four seater!”

Hmm, I usually like A.M.'s, but the I like the lines of the back and the side-back of the Panamera better than this car. I hope it's just the pictures, and that it will be better looking in real, but the proportions does not seem to be of great balanced design. of course, just my taste and 0.02.

This does indeed look far better than the 'Susan Boyle' Panamera--the only reservation I have is about the headlights, which seem to be quite long.. They remind me of the older Astons and Nissan Zs..

The wheels seem a bit too 'busy' as if they were meant to only be on an Audi, but multi-spokes have also been a British-car trademark so they're ok..

I thought the car wasn't suppose to be ready until next year or 2012 even?
