The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan and coupe are already out and about. Later this year, Mercedes-Benz will unveil an estate (station wagon) and convertible variant at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. But wait – there’s more.

According to AutoExpress, Mercedes-Benz is now working on a production version of the Fascination Concept that was unveiled at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. The three-door estate, otherwise known as a shooting brake, will become the fifth derivative of the 2010 E-Class lineup in 2011.

Sources say that the model could become a standalone model like the CLS, with Mercedes-Benz execs hoping for the same success as they’ve had with the four-door-coupe.

The engine lineup of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class shooting brake will be shared with the E-Class Coupe.

I think its a smart move…..The E-Class coupe is a very nice and clean design versus the sedan. This shooting brake would be my choice and I hate hatchbacks….but something about this is sleek.

MB must believe that the 5 series Gran Turismo must be going somewhere for them to do that, BUT initially the wagon was not to come here–so this must be the trade off for it..

Other then the lights, middle console, and roof–this concept does not seem too off pace from production..

Nice but it seems it 'sits' a little high.
