GM drops 2010 Chevrolet Impala SS

Posted: May 07, 2009

General Motors has once again killed the Impala SS. When the 2010 Impala hits showrooms, it will only be available in a LS, LT and a LTZ trim.

Can’t say that our feelings have been hurt by this decision since V8s and front-wheel-drives don’t really play well together. The most powerful engine in the Impala will now be the 3.9L V6.

    This is a just death.

No Chevrolet should ever be given the title of SS if it has front wheel drive. Where is the respect for the SS name?

exactly… HOWEVER! could this mean we have room for a G8?

We have a 2008 Impala SS, front wheel drive, V8 and absolutely love this car. It's got, looks, power, performance, and every feature you could ask for and want in a car and the gas mileage is better than what they said it would be. Great car and we are extremely pleased with it. Too bad they are dropping the SS nameplate for 2010. According to our salesman, Chevy is suppose to come back with the SS in 2011 or 2012.

I also own a 2008 Impala SS. No disappointment in this car. looks great, rides great, makes me feel free. It turns heads. Best car I’ve ever owned, never any major problems. Satisfied with gas mileage, especially if I stay out of the injectors. Black is the color, my new flowmasters makes her sound awesome.
