Maserati will unveil a convertible version of its GranTurismo at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show in September later this year.

It is reported that the Maserati GranTurismo Spider will feature a hard-top and will easily accommodate four-passengers. Power will most likely come form the current 405-hp engine found in the base GranTurismo. No word on whether Maserati will offer a GranTurismo Spider S with a 440-hp 4.7L V8  from the GranTurismo S.

The Maserati GranTurismo Spider will go on sale in early 2010, with prices to start around $130,000. It will rival the Mercedes-Benz SL550, Aston Martin V-8 Vantage roadster, Jaguar XKR convertible, and the BMW M6 convertible.
