Audi sources have confirmed that the Stuttgart automaker will introduce a convertible version of the R8 supercar in 2011.

Sources told WhatCar? that the Audi R8 Spyder will have a full-length soft-top convertible roof. However, Audi has yet to confirm whether the R8 convertible will use the V8 or the 528-hp V10 engine from the R8’s current lineup.

Pricing is expected to come in significantly more than the hard-top sibling. Audi is expecting to target the Porsche 911 Cabriolet, V8 Vantage Roadster and the replacement for Ferrari’s F430 Spider.

I’ve bet many consumers would be delightful and very excited about the convertible R8 because I’m quite sure it would really make the car look more hotter and sleeker that before. I’m also looking forward of seeing a hybrid verison of the R8, well, if ever Audi has a plan of making it.

What a car! If I had the funds this would be the first car on my list.
