It’s our fifth “Miscellaneous Thoughts” edition and judging by the number of comments on these posts we’re guessing you guys enjoy these. So without-further-ado…

Study finds 72% buyers would by American cars: R.L. Polk & Co. said that 55% U.S. car shoppers plan on buying a new car in the next two years, with majority considering domestic models despite GM and Chrysler’s troubles. – CNNMoney

GM to force 1,000 dealers to shutdown: GM said today that it will force 1,000 to 1,200 underperforming dealerships to close their doors. – MSNBC

Tesla Model S Sedan on Letterman: … and the no.1 reason for us to tune into the Late Show with David Letterman Wednesday (April 29th) night is… Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk will be on hand with the Model S sedan.

    I just heard that Motor Tend and Automobile's parent company as filed for bankruptcy.

    Do you believe that this is related to internet blogs capturing the readers with timeliness or are other factors at work here?

    I don't know who the fuck did cnn interviewed (rednecks *cough*) but let have a vote here. WHO is here is planning to buy american in the next two years? You're out of luck if you want a tesla, it's out of your league!

    I read the article as well – on Bloomberg. Basically Source Interlink filed for bankruptcy to get out of almost a $2 billion debt and become a private company. They did say that ad revenue fell 20 percent in the first quarter of 2009 but it's like that across the board.

    It could be that some automotive blogs are stealing readers that don't want to wait for monthly subscriptions to come out and want new up-to-the-minute. But most likely its because of Chrysler and GM cutting back on ad spending. They are pretty heavy advertisers in those magazines.

    We're doing well and trying to push to get more traffic everyday. All we can ask of you guys is to spread the word as much as possible and we'll keep doing our best to bring you the best automotive content we can.

    Ha ha this study or survey stinks. Look around and you'll see most people buy and drive European and Japanese cars. At least here in New York. Dumb rednecks will keep buying american because that's the only thing they know…..
