The article 'forgets' that it also had a fully charged battery pack which they depleted. If you deduct the additional miles that they made on battery power, the resulting 'mpg' is MUCH lower.<br><br>As other posters pointed out, several German cars (which you can buy as well today) outperformed this 'adjusted-mpg' quite substantially, IMHO.
