At the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, Ferrari unveiled the 599XX Concept – an extreme track version of the 599 GTB Fiorano.

The 599XX Concept was modified to boost performance by increasing the maximum revs to 9,000 rpms, which helps get all the power from the 700-hp V12 engine under the hood. The engineers at Ferrari paid particular attention to cutting down the weight of the car and engine components with the use of carbon fiber and a new crankshaft.

Sounds very much like Scuderia right? Well, spy photographers have recently seen a beefed up looking 599 lapping Ferrari’s Fiorano test track. Spies say that the 599 prototype was making “sounds that raised their neck hairs.”

Sounds great, would have loved to see a 430XX if only it was earlier in its lifespan.
