Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi have already cancelled  their presence at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Today, GM said today that its Chevrolet brand will also pull out of the Sept. show in Frankfurt.

“Chevrolet is not going to have a stand at Frankfurt,” Marc Kempe, Chevrolet Europe’s communications director, told Automotive News.

Kempe said that Chevrolet has no new product to show since GM already nvieled its Cruze and Spark at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show in March. He said that the economic-downturn has made Chevrolet very cautious as to where it spends cash.

GM’s other brands including Saab, Hummer and Cadillac are still scheduled to make an appearance in Frankfurt.

This is no great loss as the Chevy brand has little or no presence in Europe. Concentrate on U.S. business

In Europe GM should concentrate on the Opel line and find a buyer for Saab.
