Yeah I don't follow F1 neither and Nissan's decision to only claim 480 hp is questionable. But you are right it is a great performance bargain and I'm sure it’s only a matter of time before someone else gets behind the wheel of the ZR1 and sets a new record.

that could be, I dont follow F1 drivers well so maybe he is just an insane driver....I'm just a little suspicious because of how blistering fast that 3800lb car can get around the track and how sneaky they were in underrating the engines' output by like 40+ hp (what was up with that?). dont get me wrong, its still an awesome car and tremendous value.

Ron Fellows needs to get behind a ZR1 for a weekend and see if he can best Magnussen's time

Yeah, Porsche claimed that Nissan used racing slicks and a tuned GTR, so Nissan showed them the original wheels and offered Porsche, GTR driving lessons. I know what you mean though, All the GTRs that Nissan takes to the track seem to be abnormally fast, or maybe Suzuki is just a really badass driver.

these GT-R lap times seem fishy to me...wasn't porsche not able to get within 10 seconds of the previously claimed 7:29 with the GT-R they used for benchmarking, or something like that?
