If the proposed partnership between Chrysler and Fiat goes through, we could see a revised ownership structure and possible even a change in management for Chrysler.

According to AutoWeek, among the options being discussed is a direct role in Chrysler for Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne. Sources say that a possible chief executive job for Marchionne is also being considered.

Insiders say that after completing the deal, Chrysler plans on having seven-members on the board that would include representatives from Fiat and possibly Obama’s auto task force. Nonetheless, both Fiat and Chrysler still face major obstacles in getting the deal done.

AutoWeek says that a person familiar with the negotiations said that the new management structure would divide up rolls between Nardelli and Marchionne. Nardelli has been CEO of Chrysler since 2007 and was appointed by majority stakeholder Cerberus.
