It seems like sites around the internet that like to break auto manufacturers hearts by not keeping their pride and joy undercover have attacked again today. This time online automotive publications have leaked a few images and details on the new 2010 BMW X6 M.

We’re going to wait until tomorrow to give you a detailed post but for now we’ll give you some fun info to keep you excited.

Power for the BMW X6 M and the X5 M will come from a 4.4L V8 with twin-turbochargers making 555-hp. Both models will go from rest to 60 mph in just… just wait until tomorrow – it’s not so far.

Never thought I'd be saying this but I can't wait to see that car with a license plate.

Sad days. The whole M idea just went up in smoke.

Why does building a high performance SUV kill the "M" idea?
  • You know if BMW gave you a X6 M to test drive - you'd be all over it. It's that love/hate relationship people have with BMW.

Come on MB! Put that 6.5 V-12 twin-turbo in the M-Class...

That is a an interesting idea. Since most SUVs never leave the pavement i like the concept of bahn cruisers that have a large dose of utility.

Nah, BMW had already said they would use a twin turbo V8 for this and the probably the new M5. Beside they had also said that they want to decrease the size of their engines, a V12 would completely go against that, not to mention that a V12 is too much for this car.

    Ivan,

I believe that Kabluey was talking about Mercedes Benz putting a 12 in the M - Class line of SUVs.

Oh wow thanks for the correction all I read was "Come on BMW! Put that 6.5 V-12 twin-turbo..." and then I just assumed he said X6M. My bad.
