Kia has released the first official images of its new KND-5 concept car ahead of its debut at the 2009 Seoul Motor Show that will begin later today. Kia says that the KND-5 hints at a “near-luxury” sedan that is scheduled to go on sale in Korea later this year.

The KND-5 measures 4,945mm long, 1,850mm wide and 1,475mm high with a wheelbase of 2,845mm. Based on the VG, the new KND-5 features an exterior that is emphasized with sharp lines and striking LED headlamps. The new sedan also features a panorama sunroof and 20-inch alloy wheels.

“The aggressive and sophisticated KND-5 exemplifies Kia’s futuristic design and values,” said Hyoung-Keun Lee, Senior Executive Vice President & COO. ”As a concept car that presents the new direction of luxury sedan design, KND-5 will likely generate a lot of buzz at the Seoul Motor Show.”

The concept car that will be on display in Seoul tomorrow carries a 277-hp 3.5L V6 Lambda engine under the hood.
