The White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, drives a Ford Escape Hybrid just like his boss – President Barack Obama. Gibbs was flaunting his Escape Hybrid today at a press briefing.

“It’s a nice car. It really is,” Gibbs said. “I’m a proud Ford owner, and I’m happy to say that. No, the president’s Ford is back in Chicago, probably for good reason. The Secret Service doesn’t let him drive anymore, which I know he misses. But, no, obviously, the president believes that American automakers are building cars that Americans want to buy and that are also being sold overseas.”

During his presidential campaign Obama sold his V8 Chrysler 300C and replaced it with a Ford Escape Hybrid.

We’re guessing Ford makes Obama very proud by being the only automaker from Detroit that has not asked for federal loans.
