Ford spokesman John Gardiner confirmed to the Associated Press today that the automaker is in talks with many potential buyers of its Swedish brand Volvo – and apparently this time Ford likes the numbers that are on the table.

“Ford has contact with a number of parties that are interested in Volvo’s future,” Gardiner said. “We are having preliminary discussions determining the interest.”

He said that there are ongoing talks with “quality” potential buyers that could lead to a sale. He declined to disclose any information on who these “potential buyers” are.

It has been previously reported that Ford is looking for at least $6 billion for Volvo.

I'll bet Ford didn't threaten their perspective buyer with 5 years of GM technology.
