It is reported that only 14 automakers will be present at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. Nonetheless, the show is expected to be pretty exciting with Japanese automakers making some significant debuts. Toyota’s Akio Toyoda will be taking over the steering wheel as the company’s CEO starting April. That alone is expected to generate some stir at the Tokyo Motor Show.
However, according to sources of Inside Line, more exciting than Toyoda will be the production version of the 600-hp V10 Lexus LF-A supercar.
Also expected to make its debut in Tokyo is the rear-wheel-drive compact sports car from Toyota and Subaru – otherwise known as Toyobaru. Following the 220-hp sports car, Toyota will also debut a full range of plug-in hybrid vehicles and its latest EV and battery technology.
Those not attending the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show include, Ford, GM, Chrysler, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Lamborghini, Renault, Isuzu, Mitsubishi and Nissan Diesel.
