According to a report by German publication Automobilwoche, the next-generation Audi R8 will be heading the market in 2010.

An Audi spokesman told the publication that the next-generation model will use the ASF II, the second generation of Audi’s Aluminum Space Frame. The spokesman said that the next-generation Audi A8 will initially be offered with an 8-cylinder diesel and petrol engines. Other engine choices will join the lineup after launch.

Unlike Mercedes-Benz’s S400 Hybrid and Lexus’s LS Hybrid, Audi has no plans to offer a hybrid version of the A8.

  • Just a small correction : You wrote at first "the next-generation Audi R8 will be heading the market in 2010." . It should be A8 rather than R8. I know what you meant, but for the readers, it may be confusing.

All of audi's sedans all look too similar in my opinion, that's not to say they're not good looking. Hopefully the new A7 will help add something interesting to the mix.

I think the title should spell A8 instead of R8.
