Fiat has taken the top of its 500 mini car and has thrown on a 500C badge. The brand new 500C convertible is the successor to the original open top model launched in 1957.

The roof of the 500C convertible is electronically operated. The model will be offered in Europe later this year with the same drivetrain lineup as its 500 sibling. The diesel option will include a 1.3L Multijet turbodiesel making 75-hp. The gasoline options including a 69-hp 1.2L and a 100-hp 1.4L. The new Fiat 500C will also get the company’s new “Start&Stop” system which allows the engine to stop when shifting to neutral and releasing the clutch, and then restarts when a gear is selected.
