Wow! Once again Ferrari has produced a fantastic car. What a design,
What a design, I see that they have added some stylish 20 inch split rim alloys,
matte-black rear diffuser and seat backs made from carbon-fibre.
This has to be the meanest looking Ferrari that I have ever seen,
and Ferrari is my favorite sports car by far.

It is not street legal anywhere in the world, and it is not homologated for racing in any category either. The XX program is a protected by a strong server-client confidentiality agreement that protects the technical development of such car. The main purpose of the XX program is to allow development of reliable technology transfer, which is has always been essential to Ferrari.

Note the “external starter” on the back of the car (the protruding nozzle in between the exhaust pipes); the engine of this car requires an “external pneumatic drill-like starter”, which makes it impractical for normal use.

It has small tail lights that are used on a rainy track, or during test runs at night (mandatory).

See those white rectangles (two on each lower corner)?

Those are LED tail lights. They were used for the Ferrari FXX as well.

You realize this vehicle isn't street legal, especially in the United States, don't you?

The car isn't about impressing the guy in the Camry at the local Costco, it's about shedding seconds off lap times. The car and it's accessories aren't art, as they all have a function to serve

Currently, the position of the exhaust (and the laminar flow of the exaust) is in function of the air flow extraction in the back of the car; no longer an aesthetic criterium.

The 599XX is re-introducing a kind of technology first used by Brabham Alfa Romeo in F1 at the end of the 70's: two fans in the “trunk” that suck air from underneath the car body to create an enhanced downward force. In the case of the 599XX, the novel aspect is that the air is pushed through the engine bay (to cool the former), and vented through the two “black holes” (the “tail lights” of the 599 Fiorano); the laminar flow of the vented air is controlled by a series of micro-jets or air that form an air shell around the flow of hot vented air, so that the aerodynamics is not spoiled.

My friend bought the 599 GTB in January in Long island – in red – absolutely ridiculous!!!!!!!!!
