People, don't get caught up! Drop the badges and compare each vehicle spec to spec, stat to stat!! We don't hesitate to compare a ZR1 to Ferrari's and Porsche's do we? (and look at those price differences!!) And the last time I checked, Chevrolet wasn't a luxury brand!

this is a dumb comparison….they should have tested a 370z, or mustang or camaro. I would take a base 370z over the genesis

I could not put it any better, talk about comparing “apples to bananas.” I guess the Genesis Coupe is also better that hum lets say the BMW 135 & 335, why not throw in the new 370Z in the mix for good measure cause the Genesis is CHEAPER. I am thinking of a new comparison, how about a Z06 Corvette and a 2010 Camaro and we can say that the Camaro wins because its slower, less power, not as good of a handler, but cheaper, maybe we will sell more magazines. Sounds like a winner to me..

Good comparison, Hyundai just needs better performance..

It's not necessarily badge image, I mean Infiniti is Japanese--if people were really worried about image they would just buy a 3 series coupe..

I WOULD never utter Infiniti and BMW in the same breath--hogwash!

I do agree that the Genesis is more in line with the rough Mustang or a unbalanced Eclipse..

I agree with you, I doubt buyers of the G37 will also be considering the genesis coupe. If anything they’ll probably be comparing it to a 328i coupe or something else but not this. Although I don't think that comparing it to the eclipse isn't much better seeing as how the eclipse is front wheel drive. A V6 Mustang is probably the closest thing this has to competition.

This comparison is a joke. How can you compare the two vehicles, they dont belong in the same class, neither will 90% of people ever cross shop them. It doesnt even compare to the 370z let alone the G37. Compare that care to the mitsu eclipse, mustang, and others in its class. This article by motortrend was done just to lure people to read the stupid thing.

The one big thing Infiniti has that Hyundai does not have in this competition is the badge. People looking for luxury are not going to be easily swayed to buy a Genesis assuming $ is not a factor.

I still think that Hyundai needs to go ahead & make a luxury brand … even if they have to sell it @ Hyundai dealerships @ 1st to save $. As of now, many people probably see the Genesis as no more luxury as a Toyota Avalon or Honda Accord EX-L.
