Following a very dull teaser of the 2010 Sorento, Kia has released two additional teasers giving us a better look at the new crossover due to be unveiled at the 2009 Seoul Motor Show in April. Design comes from ex-Audi designer (now head of design at Kia) Peter Schreyer.

The new 2010 Kia Sorento will go on sale in South Korea shortly after it makes its debut in Seoul. U.S., Europe and other markets will have to wait until late 2009.

Power is expected to come from a choice of two gasoline and diesel engine. The gasoline lineup will include a 2.4L 4-cylinder Theta II unit and a 270-hp 3.8L in-line 6-cylinder. The diesel model will be powered by a 2.2L R-diesel engine making 200-hp returning an impressive 33 mpg. Engines will be available with a choice of a new 6-speed automatic transmission.

Rumor has it that Kia may bring the 2010 Sorento to the 2009 New York Auto Show.

What's with Hyundai-Kia stealing all these designs, first the fiesta and now this thing that looks like a Q5/Q7

  • John

maybe because it was designed by an ex-audi designer?

This concept actually looks better than a Q5/7!

  • Pat

looks more like an acura mdx and a little bit of subaru to me

  • Ivan Gutierrez

Yeah but just because its the same designer doesn't mean it has to look like his previous work, assuming he was the guy who designed the Q7. He needs to come up with someting new and original for a different brand.
