Kia has dropped a teaser image for the 2010 Kia Sorento ahead of its launch at the Seoul Motor Show in April. For 2010, the Kia Sorento will get a new exterior and interior look along with a new 2.2L diesel engine developed by Kia’s parent – Hyundai Motor Company.

The new 2.2L R diesel engine produces a total of 200-hp and 321 lb-ft of torque. It is expected to return a fuel-economy of 34 mpg. The engine features a third-generation common rail system with piezo-electric injectors.

The 2010 Kia Sorento will also be offered with a 2.4 4-cylinder diesel engine and a 270-hp 3.8L 6-cylinder engine. A 2.7L LPI (Liquefied Petroleum Injection) engine is also expected to be offered with the Sorento in the Korean market. The engine choices will be mated to a new 6-speed automatic transmission.

U.S. sales are expected to begin sometime at the end of this year.
