i also was kind of confused by your first comment. But I totally agree with you…you basically believe in the free market or capitalism. What is scary is that president Obama is a socialist jack ass! Every “solution” or idea that he comes up with involves government intervention. Obama plays on the fears of Americans who want better lifestyles and free handouts. He has created an image that the government is 100% responsible for anything bad that happens and that it is the government's responsibility to provide everyone with an equally high standard of living regardless of their personal responsibilities or lack of.

I'm critical of of all this debt regardless of the auto industry. They are a tiny spec (16 billion so far) compare to the 44 trillions cash flow 11 of which are debt!

I am far more critical of the management of the Detroit 3 because of their asleep at the wheel management style and for their lack of backbone when it comes to dealing with the UAW.

If not for GM, Ford and Chrysler's idiocy, ViolatedCitizen and Boyle would not be this agitated.

I don't have any problems with having China or any other country buying our debt. Investors in this country buy the debt of other countries. Besides, I like Chinese food.

Is GM asking for $16B or not? Has GM already received billions from our treasury or not?

I understand that we're paying GM with borrowed money from T-Bills, but that's still a tax payer liability taken on for the benefit of a private company.

$16billion divided by 300 million US residents means we each have a liability for $5,300 for every American. In my opinion, this is money wasted on a failed company that has little chance of survival with or without this money.

Down to 'just' Chevy, Buick, Caddy, GMC, with Pontiac still sold under the 'GMC channel'. Sorry but where's the cut?

The only fair way out of this for the tax payers is a court organized bankruptcy. Chevy and Caddy will likely survive in some fashion as smaller companies, that produce cars that the market actually wants.

Honestly even if they get the price tag for the Volt down from $35k to $22k, would anyone still buy this over a Prius or Civic hybrid?
