But the 2.3L turbo is expensier to mantain than the v6. It requires scheduled maintenance services at half the miles vs the 3.5 v6
Something customers have not like.

My experinace with Honda's 4 cylinder engine was great but I cannot say the same about their 3.5 V6. My 2008 Accord with V6 burns/consumes 1 quart of oil per 1000 miles adn Honda does think that's a problem. In matter of fact they think that's normal!?. I don't recommend buying a TSX with a V6, the 4 cylinder is way more reliable.

I agree, the 2.3L turbo would have been a better choice for the TSX rather than taking the same 3.5 from the TL.

Altho this does seem to overlap w/ the base TL, there is still enough of a difference that people will still choose a TL over a TSX & vice versa. Or .. maybe they do plan on killing off the FWD TL ... it is hard to say what Acura is up to bc they are always doing something out in left field.

I'm one that actually likes the TSX front grill and rear styling. However, the TL's version of both is an eyesore. Acura must be throwing in the towel on the base TL. Why pay $1000 more per inch of extra rear seat legroom? The TSX with V6 is on my wish list.

I think the better option would have been to add the drivetrain from the RDX (Turbo 2.4L and AWD) You would have a nimble excellent handling car and better fuel economy when gas goes up to $4/gal. I think the edge of the handling of the car will be gone as the V6 is large, heavy and a bit lazy (280hp out of 3.5L is not earth shattering these days) and the extra weight on the front end will make for severe understeer compared to the current 4cyl version, it will not be as nicely balanced anymore. Also by not offering a manual version they are not competing with C, 3, A4, G37, IS.

Now if they could only get rid of the moustache

2010 will bring the v6 for the TSX, the manual for the TL & the MMC for both the RDX & MDX. Something tells me that the RL will be left unchanged after this years extensive refresh & the rumors that the RWD & V8 programs are delayed.
