Faurecia, a French auto parts maker, has sued troubled American automaker Chrysler LLC for $110 million. Faurecia claims that Chrysler owes it money for engineering and research cost associated with interior parts made for the Chrysler PT Cruiser and Sebring along with the Dodge Avenger and Nitro and the Jeep Liberty.

Faurecia originally expected to be paid back for research and development costs if Chrysler had met its volume projections. When Chrysler’s production was lower than it predicted, it did not raise the price of each parts and Faurecia was never reimbursed as promised.

The French parts maker said that it filed a lawsuit in Oakland County Circuit Court on Monday. Chrysler spokesman Michael Palese said that Chrysler had not been served with the lawsuit as of yet.

Therefore, it would be inappropriate to comment at this time,” Palese told Detroit Free Press.

Chrysler needs to pay up and fast. What Faurecia didn't count on was that Chrysler would never make the projected sales.

Faurecia should have had a clue if it had seen renderings of the Avenger, Nitro and Liberty.

Any way, what the hell is Chrysler doing with the billions of taxpayer dollars?
