We hardly ever write about motorcycle here but we’ll make an exception here. Mission Motors, a company based in San Francisco, California, has unveiled the world’s fastest production all-electric motorcycle. Think of them like the Tesla Motors of the motorcycle world.

Power for the all-electric motorcycle comes from a lithium-ion battery pack mated to an electric motor that offers 100 lb-ft of torque at zero RPM. That allows the motor to deliver faster acceleration than most gasoline sportbikes without ever having to shift gears. On a full charge the bike gets a range 150 miles. Top speed comes in at 150 mph. Reaching a full charge takes about 2 hours at 240V and 8 hours at 120v.

The first 50 bikes will arrive in 2010 as a Limited Edition with prices starting at $68,995. Later this summer Mission Motors will unveil a more affordable Mission One model.

New tech always gets cheaper over time...just look at the price of LCD and plasma TV's for example! lol

And now that Lithium battery tech is taking flight we are going to see the EV market explode in the next couple years (nimh's are old school already)...and hopefully open new doors to even better battery tech
