Last night, while all of us were drooling over images and the sound of the new 510-hp Aston Martin V12 Vantage, our friends at AutoBlog were talking to the U.S. Aston team figuring out the stateside availability of the most aggressive Vantage ever built.

Unfortunately, they found out that the V12 Vantage won’t make it to the U.S. Why? Apparently there are some problems with the huge front end passing U.S. crash test regulations. Also in question are the optional Alcantara, carbon Kelvar bucket seats that have no airbags.

Those of you that have the money to bring the V12 Vantage over to stateside illegally, make sure you send us some photos.

THANK GOD !! Like we don't have enough bad cars already ..

  • Allen

Hafner, you do realize saying that just made you the enemy of maybe oh EVERYONE on this and the TorqueReport?

  • Pat

wow Hafner do you know what you're talking about here?

  • Pat

Not to mention this is the first car I've seen on eGMCarTech that actually got some significant fanboy comments like “oh this is so hot i want it.”

Otherwise its a whole bunch of educated political folks going on and on about the politics side of the automotive world.

Ripping on Aston Martin is an offense punishable by death…or worse we make you drive a Yugo!

  • Ivan Gutierrez

Oh no you didn't. Okay apparently you and Abba don't get it, I guess your new so I'll say it again. You can't just go around dissin Aston Martin like their chrysler, diss chrysler all you want but leave AM out of it.

Despite the use of light weight materials, it is as heavy as a '09 BWM M3 V8 “SEDAN”, mounts an old V12 with a ridiculously low power output of 510 HP for a 6L V12 (the four door sedan BWM M5 does much better with 2 cylinders and 1-liter less, and heck the '09 Lambo Gallardo's V10 squeezes even 553HP from a 5.2L), combined to a very old manual 6-speed transmission (c'mon it's 2009 already … even a regular Audi A4 or a VW EOS comes with a tip-tronic), that makes it slower (0-60) than a regular 911 Turbo, which btw comes with seats with airbags (and a total of 6 airbags standard), passed U.S. crash test regulations, and it is currently for sale.
    LOL
