Hyundai working on Toyota iQ, Ford Fusion and C-Max rival
Posted: Jan 30, 2009

Hyundai will release its Toyota iQ rival next year after the Korean automaker’s r&d department was instructed to speed up development of what is known as the ‘green baby.’ A AutoCar source said that the car would be a little more funkier and functional than the iQ.
Under consideration is a car that offers a single drivetrain and trim level, a tactic used by Renault on its Twingo.
Hyundai is also determined to take on Ford’s Fusion with a vehicle based on the i20. It will also take on the Ford C-Max with a vehicle based on the i30 platform. Those two models should arrive in the middle of next year.
