Mazda’s beloved 2009 MX-5 Miata Roadster will be its stateside debut at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show with sales to begin later this year. The car is already on sale in Japan (where it’s known just as the Mazda MX-5) for a starting price of 2,330,000 yen ($25,331 USD). We’ll get the U.S. pricing details closer to launch date.

The 2009 Mazda MX-5 Miata is powered by a 2.0 4-cylinder unit making a total of 167-hp.

Interesting Historical Figure: In 20 years, Mazda has sold more than 800,000 units of the Mazda MX-5 Miata around the world making it the world’s best-selling two seat roadster.
