Porsche 911 GT3 RSR passes race track premiere with flying colors

After introducing the 2009 Porsche 911 GT3 and the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, Porsche announced that the latter has passed its premiere on the race track with flying colors. Porsche said that at the American Le Mans Series winter testing in Sebring, the 911 GT3 RSR proved to be exceptional in its reliability and handling.

The Flying Lizard Motorsports and Franbacher Loles Racing conducted an intensive three-day test schedule and worked on a basis set-up for the Sebring 12 hour race in March.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RSR weighs in at 2,739 pounds with a 450-hp 4.0L 6-cylinder boxer engine which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with sequential jaw-type shift. Click here to learn more about the 911 GT3 RSR.
