2009 Corvette Competition Sport Package gives you a little more performance

For those of you that don’t want to go out and buy a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 to get track performance, GM is offering a new special edition package to buyers who want a little more out of their 2009 Corvette 1LT and Z06 models.

On the 1LT coupe, the Z51 performance package adds upgraded brakes, a stiffer suspension, differential cooler and a limited slip differential with 2.73 axle ratio along with a performance exhaust system. Engine output jumps by a total of 6-hp for a total of 436-hp. On the Z06 output is unchanged at 505-hp.

The 2009 Chevrolet Corvette Competition Sport Package also adds gray-colored racing stripes, new wheels, new headlamps, Corvette racing pedals, a special engine cover and the Corvette Racing “Jake” logos on the B-pillar.

The new package will be available at dealers later this spring. Pricing info will be announced closer to launch.
