Detroit NAIAS 2009: Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Stirling Moss on U.S. soil

… and this is probably the only time you’ll see the special-edition McLaren in the U.S. since none of the limited 75 units will be sold here.

Mercedes-Benz will sell the car exclusively in Europe with a outstanding price tag of $1.04 million. Production will kick off in June 2009 after the other SLR ends its production in May.

Refresher: The 2009 Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Stirling Moss is powered by a 5.4L V8 Supercharged engine that makes a total of 650-hp. 0 to 62 mph comes in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph.
