Bentley has dropped the details on the new facelifted 2009 Bentley GTC range prior to its 2009 Detroit Auto Show debut. This year, the GTC range will be joined by the 200mph GTC Speed – the most powerful Bentley convertible ever.

Besides the highly unnoticeable facelight the standard GTC gets new low-friction dampers that provide improved ride comfort. Buyers can add on two new options including upgraded fade-resistant, carbon-ceramic brakes and follow-to-stop Adaptive Cruise Control with long-range radar sensor that monitors traffic ahead and manages acceleration and brakes to maintain a driver-selected time gap.

Power for the entry-level Bentley GTC comes from a 6.0L W12 making a total of 600-hp. The GTC Speed gets a twin-turbocharged version of the W12 making a total of 600-hp with a maximum torque of 553 lb-ft. 0 to 60 mph comes in just 4.5 seconds (0 to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds) with a top speed clocked in at 200 mph. Both are mated to a 6-speed transmission with two automatic modes (Drive and Sport) or a clutchless manual with paddle shifters.

The Continental GTC Speed can be distinguished with subtle design enhancements including a dark-tinted front grille and air intakes, 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli PZero ultra-high performance tires, a lowered and uprated suspension, wider twin-exhaust tail pipes and a new boot-mounted lip spoiler.

The 2009 Bentley Continental GTC and the GTC Speed will hit markets later this year.
