Earlier this year, Hyundai released a teaser image for the upcoming next-generation Equus, a large luxury sedan that was sold in South Korea, Europe, China and the Middle East. Today, the Korean automaker has released official sketches of the 2010 Hyundai Equus.

The Hyundai Equus is expected to make its official debut in February 2009. It will be be offered with a 420-hp 5.0L Tau V8 and a smaller 4.6L.

No word on whether Hyundai will bring the 2010 Equus to the U.S., but we highly doubt it since it may hurt Genesis sales.

Oh wow…let's hope that if Hyundai doesn't bring the Equus to the U.S. that the next-generation Genesis Sedan will look more like this.

I Hope the US gets both the Genesis and Equus.

The Equus if brought over here to the US, will most likely be named Azera. Hyundai is merging cars together globally, so they can slim down their lineup to make it smaller like the US lineup. They merged the Getz and Accent to create the i20 B-Segment, then made a last generation Getz sized A-segment car the i110 which by the way sells 110,000 a month just in India alone; almost 300,000 a month in Europe and Asia. I think they are going to apply this formula to their larger cars as well. I did recently talk to a Hyundai Rep who stated that a Larger than Sonata smaller than Genesis “Halo” car is comiing to replace the Azera very soon.

Hyundai is on the “Fast Track”, the quality of their cars are amaizing. I have owned a Sonita for seven years; I have replace the spark plugs once, the battery once and a head lamp- that’s it, 136,000 miles. It still runs beautifuly, I enjoy it more now than when I first purchased it.
    I guess that’s because, it’s paid for!!!

    Oops, belt also.

Hyundai is on the “Fast Track”!
The quality of their vehicles are amazing. I have owned a Sonata (2003) for seven years.
I can’t believe, how little it cost me to own it. I have done nothing more than routine
maintenance, and, now that it is paid for- OMG! It still runs like it did the day I bought it.
I can’t say enough about Hyundai.
