Lexus today confirmed that its all new dedicated hybrid sedan will be called the HS 250h. Besides showing the 2010 Lexus RX 350, RX450h, IS 250 C and the IS 350C Lexus will display the fourth-hybrid in its lineup next month at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show.

The Lexus HS 250h exhibit will also features an interactive telematics display, highlighting new, in-vehicle technology found aboard the hybrid sedan.

Lexus didn’t reveal any technical info on the new hybrid sedan and didn’t say whether it will debut be in concept or production form. However, the HS 250h designation confirms the 2.5L engine we’ve been hearing about. It is rumored that Lexus will borrow the same hybrid system found in the Toyota Camry hybrid, meaning the HS 250h will use nickel-hydride batteries. It is reported that Lexus will upgrade to lithium-ion batteries in 2010.
