Lamborghini to announce record results in 2008, plans to launch new vehicles every year

While the rest of the auto industry cuts back on their forecasts, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A announced today that it will deliver another record year’s result in 2008. Official sales figures will be announced at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show next month.

The Italian uber-luxury brand said that even as a low volume manufacturer, Lamborghini is not affected by the downturn in economic activities in the wake of a global financial crisis. Lamborghini says that it is in a strong strategic position due to its identity as a luxury brand and by staying true to its core values, which is maintained through a tight management of volumes.

How has Lamborghini turned profit for the last four years? Lamborghini says that it has the most attractive line-up in the company’s 45 year history with at least one new product launched ever year. It said that production flexibility has been made possible by continous cooperation with union representatives. The Italian automaker will not announced any layoffs but will extend Christmas holiday for eight days.

Lamborghini said it will not change its long-term strategy and will continue to investment into R&D while expanding with new products and dealer networks. The company will continue to announce at least one new product every year. Lamborghini launched the new Gallardo LP 560-4 Coupe last year, followed by the Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder which hits dealers in in spring 2009.
