Surprise of the day: Jeremy Clarkson against the Big 3 bailout

Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has always been pretty outspoken about his hatred for American automobiles. Only recently was Clarkson impressed by Detroit’s latest supercars the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V. However when it comes to bailing out the Detroit 3 Jeremy Clarkson is against it. While Jeremy’s reasons this time around don’t include “American cars are complete rubbish,” he says that he doesn’t believe in state intervention.
“General Motors and Ford are massive. Ford’s been technically bankrupt, so far as I can gather, for many years – and if it were a corner shop it would’ve been gone many years ago. But it can’t go because it employs too many people and it’s too important. That’s the same with General Motors.”
“We’re coming to the end of days, economically speaking,” said Clarkson.
